SkylineDx is a molecular diagnostics company that provides actionable personalized information for improved treatment decisions and patient outcomes in oncology, inflammatory, and infectious diseases.

Merlin is a genomic test developed by SkylineDx together with the Mayo Clinic to assess the risk of cutaneous melanoma spreading or recurring by incorporating patient’s age, tumor thickness, and genes directly linked to melanoma and its potential to metastasize.

Testing is performed at our Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) certified and College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited lab located in San Diego, California.

Your healthcare provider can fill out and fax or email the Test Requisition Form to SkylineDx from our “Order a Test” webpage.

The Merlin test is one of the most recently launched molecular diagnostic test for cutaneous melanoma, so your healthcare provider may not know about it. The Merlin test is covered by traditional Medicare with no out-of-pocket cost to the patient. SkylineDx also accepts all commercial health plans and will manage the insurance billing process on your behalf to obtain coverage of the Merlin test. SkylineDx offers a Patient Assistance Program for patients who do not have insurance or whose insurance does not cover the Merlin test.

Healthcare providers will receive a specimen kit for preparing and sending the tumor tissue sample to the SkylineDx laboratory for analysis. If all the required information is received, the laboratory will send the test report with the results within approximately five (5) business days of receiving the tumor sample in our laboratory.
